The Chapter sits opposite Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj, a few minutes from the malls at the top of the road and twelve kilometres from the airport.
It is a working house rather than a grand one. Forty-four rooms, a lift, a corridor kept quiet, a front desk staffed around the clock and a restaurant that lays out breakfast for whoever is up. Parking is on site and free. So is the wireless, on every floor.
Guests come for the hospitals across the road, for the university at the other end of it, and for the two or three nights that sit between one plan and the next. The house is built for all three — a room that lets you sleep, and a team that answers at four in the morning.

Vasant Kunj is a quiet part of south-west Delhi that happens to hold two hospitals, a university and three malls within a few minutes of one another. The house sits in the middle of that, on the hospital side of the road.
